BIO

Introducing Lisa Tapia, an experienced paralegal who has been a key part of the legal field since 2011. Lisa earned her Paralegal Studies certification from the University of New Mexico and is a member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division. She has a deep commitment to supporting her community and volunteers her time with Volunteer Legal Services (VLS).

Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Lisa grew up in her grandfather’s adobe home before moving to Rio Rancho, where she gained experience working at the District Court. In 2011, she relocated to the Austin area, where she’s been building her career ever since.

In her free time, Lisa is a creative spirit with a passion for music, dancing, and painting. She enjoys staying active through working out and has a love for traveling, and exploring different cultures and places. She also has a special place in her heart for baking, often whipping up pastries on the weekend when she’s not catering to the demands of her Yorkie, Gidget, who insists on brunch every weekend. She and her husband share a household with three adult sons, one stepson, and their three dogs: Zoey, Penny Roo, and of course, Gidget.

Lisa’s journey into the legal profession was inspired by her own personal experience. After going through a divorce, she understood firsthand the challenges of navigating the legal system and wanted to help others going through similar situations. Her empathy and drive make her a strong advocate for her clients, guiding them through difficult times with care.

Lisa is also passionate about causes like the Innocence Project and the Austin Justice Coalition, advocating for justice and fairness. She is known by friends for being intelligent, resilient, compassionate, and driven, and she’s always seeking to grow, whether it’s through becoming fluent in Spanish or learning to sing and swim. Fun fact—Lisa once competed on the Food Network show Food Truck Face Off!

With her diverse interests, passion for justice, and dedication to her clients, Lisa Tapia is truly a dynamic individual both inside and outside of the legal world.
